For some of you who already may know last month I got a fixed penalty notice for £30 for driving while on my mobile (which they were cracking down on at the time), this was no big deal, just paid the fine and its all forgotton about. Today on the other hand was a little bit different... I decided to pop to Asda Walmart in Swindon for some lunch which has a dual carrageway most of the way there but for some reason is limited down to 40mph. After a while on there I decided to overtake someone who was going below the speed limit on the inside lane but put my foot down slightly (maybe a bit more than slightly) harder than I should of and then see in the distance a guy with a white hat on looking like a Police officer so slowed down (as you do) only to find once I almost reached him he waved at me to pull over. Turned out he has clocked my speed at almost 300m away and clocked me doing 55mph so I accepted the fixed penalty notice he handed me which was £60 plus three penalty points... How crap! Worst thing of it all will be when I see my insurance bill next year!

I wrote off my first car by carefully driving it over a verge, into a fence and finally ending up in a ditch! Was an intresting experience to say the least! But fortunatly (or unfortunatly if you dislike... [More]
